Sheen kept an unbroken promise from the day of his ordination: a holy hour, every day, for sixty years. “There isn’t any evil propensity that cannot be overcome by discipline,” he said. That is the point of these thirty days. We are not building a routine — we are building the virtue of discipline, aimed directly at vice, for the sanctification of the soul and against the evil in the world.
This is not a course about prayer. It is thirty days of praying and building the habit, with something from Sheen waiting each morning and a record of your own kept only by you.

The ideal
Make the hour before the Blessed Sacrament whenever you can reach a church — that is where He is truly present, and it is the ideal Sheen held out. When you cannot get there, make it at home, in whatever place you can pray.

Sheen held the hour as the goal from the first day. For Catholics he taught that it should be made before the Blessed Sacrament — and that if you cannot get there, you make it at home. He allowed real flexibility in how it is kept, and we will guide you the whole way. So there are two honest ways in, and you choose at the start.
Begin at fifteen minutes and climb. You reach the full hour before the end of the third week — and then the scaffolding comes off. The last days are not about adding minutes but about keeping what you have built, so that by the thirtieth it is the shape of your day rather than an addition to it. Every day is recorded, the climb as much as the hour.

The thirtieth day is December 9 — Blessed Sheen's feast day. It is not the end of anything. It is the beginning of the final spiritual conquest of which he was sent to lead us.
